On March 29, 2019 Paul Wilson Fields, Jr., a long-time rural Oologah resident, passed peacefully in his sleep after a 10-year battle with cancer. He was born to Paul Wilson and Clesta Fields on July 3, 1940 in Haskell, OK.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda, of the home and his mother Clesta Fields of Porter, OK. Wilson, as he was known, was the proud father of 4 sons. He is survived by Brian and wife Pam of Chelsea, Launce and fiancée Tina of Bixby, Reed and wife George of Owasso, Leif of Raymond, WA and niece Kyla Holderness of Tulsa whom he considered the daughter he never had. He is also survived by 4 sisters and 3 brothers: Jera Holderness of Oologah, Debbie Shanks of Broken Arrow, Charlotte and husband Robert Smith of Haskell, Susie Oliver of Porter, Glen Fields and wife Kay of Dandridge, TN, Burt Fields of Everman, TX, and Jim Fields of Bullhead City, AZ. Wilson had 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter: Launce Fields and wife Moe of Florida, Nicholas Fields and wife Heather of Alabama, Derek Fields and wife Mariah of Albuquerque, NM, Alexander Fields of Albuquerque, NM, Gage Fields of Fort Meyer, FL, and Halen Turner and husband Tyler of Oklahoma City. He had 2 great granddaughters Emily and Kylie Fields of Alabama plus numerous nieces and nephews. Wilson was preceded in death by his father, Paul Wilson Fields Sr., and brothers John Fields, Kent Fields, and Jack Fields. As per his wishes, his family is going to celebrate rather than mourn his passing!
