Marvin Jerome Buchfink

Marvin Jerome Buchfink, 79, of Oologah passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 in Muskogee. He was born on August 18, 1938 in Kismet, KS to John and Lenora (Hildebrand) Buchfink. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a civil engineer where his specialty was carpentry. He was a decorated rifle marksman and carbine sharpshooter. After his military service he started his own company Marvin Buchfink Concrete and made his career as a concrete contractor. He married his wife Tommie on September 23, 1969 and they were married until her passing on April 30, 2014. He was an avid gardener, a friend to everyone and always ready to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his children, John (Randy) Buchfink and wife, Rebecca of Collinsville, Jeremi (Buchfink) Pennington of Oologah, and Lee Buchfink and wife, Rebecca of Oologah; brothers, John, Dale, Charlie, Richard, Harry, and Danny Buchfink; sister, Helen Hamblin; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, and Jessica Buchfink, Jenny and Justin Ray, Skyler and Tyler Yock, Ellie, Caleb, and Jimmy Buchfink; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha, John, Josh, Josiah, Jude, Aaron, and Alex; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, James Edward “Jimmy” Buchfink; brother, Ted Buchfink, and sisters, Betty Clow and Norma Sappington. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 10 at Zion Hill Church in Oologah. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home
