David Walton Rowden
David Walton Rowden, age 83 went on to be with his Lord and savior on August 18, 2018 in Amarillo TX. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville, OK. Rusty Fuller of Ada and Tim Prock of Collinsville will officiate.
David was born December 11, 1934 in Okmulgee, OK to Coral and Chester Rowden. He was a life long member of the Baptist Church and resident of Oklahoma. David graduated school from Okmulgee High, Northeast Oklahoma A&M in Miami, OK and from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Geology. He began his professional career at Sinclair Oil Co., later starting his own company Ram Machine in Tulsa, OK.
He loved to follow OSU Cowboy football and basketball as well as OKC Thunder basketball. David enjoyed so many past times, gardening, coaching football, taking care of his cattle, playing golf, singing in his church choir, watching Fox news and spending time with his family.
David was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Laura Rowden, a sister Betty Hillman and a sister Patsy Calico.
He is survived by a daughter Kathryn Clift and husband George of Amarillo, TX, a daughter Susan Wilkerson and husband Scot of Cedartown, GA and a son Tim Rowden of Lewisville, TX, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A sister Mary Ellen Fuller and husband William Lee of Edmond, OK and a brother Bill Rowden of Costa Mesa, CA.
