Clifford Jerry Douglass
Clifford Jerry Douglass of Collinsville, Okla. passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was
86. Jerry was born on April 30, 1933 to George Henry Douglass and Pauline (Jackson) Douglass in Vera, Okla. He married Peggy Jean Thomason on November 22, 1952 in Tulsa, OK, and together they raised three children.
Jerry worked as a fireman for the Tulsa Fire Department until his retirement. He raised game fowl and was known worldwide for his chickens. Jerry was involved in real estate, in which he owned the Ranch House Café in the 60’s and built and ran the Bonanza Game Farm. He also owned property north of Oologah Schools that he parceled out for purchase. Jerry was a member of Shelter Free Will Baptist Church where he enjoyed spending time with his church family and singing. He was proud to be an Honorary Rogers County Deputy Sheriff and let it be known from time to time. Jerry was an avid sports fan, whether it be watching the grandkids playing for Collinsville or Owasso, or watching college sports and OU. He also enjoyed going to the casino with his friend Faye.
Jerry is survived by his children, Vickie Lynn Chamberlain, Brent George Douglass, and Gregory Don Douglass; his sister, Joan Cox; grandchildren, Jennifer Amen, Julie Heaton, Eric Douglass, Shane Douglass, and Jacob Douglass; step-grandson Chad Chamberlain; great grandchildren, Leilani Amen and Jonah Amen; and a host of extended family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation for Jerry will be Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home from 1:30-6 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 at Shelter Free Will Baptist Church in Collinsville with Rev. Ronnie Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Wann Cemetery.
