Several local residents were injured in an accident last week in which a Pryor man had stopped on a county road to pick up a pair of pedestrians but was struck from behind by another vehicle.
Local resident Missy Barron rinses off the second coating of a stain used on pots downtown before their sealer is applied, and the pots are later filled with plants. The pots, ten in all, are lined along Cooweescoowee in downtown as part of the Oologah High School Class of 2020 Senior Project, using leftover funds from a donation from the Cherokee Nation to beautify the town. Barron is the mother of recent Oologah graduate Jack Barron.
Fishermen and anglers of all ages are invited this weekend to a fishing event to benefit the Oologah Wrestling Booster Club.
“Right now, the Oolagah Historical Society is in need of funds, and we haven’t had a cookbook in over 20 years, so we thought publishing one with recipes from people in the community would be both a good fundraiser and way to preserve people’s family recipes,” said Jan Miller, longtime Oolagah Historical Society (OHS) member. “We’re planning on publishing the cookbook some time in November, so that we’ll get it back and it will be available in time for people to give it as a gift for Christmas.”
In a race that was backand-forth throughout the evening, incumbent Don Tice ultimately emerged successful in his bid to retain his seat on the Oologah School Board against opponent Trina Greeves.

Sleepiness was reported as the cause for a single-vehicle accident on the Will Rogers Turnpike in Rogers County which sent a Missouri man to the hospital with head injuries.
The Oologah-Talala School District’s accreditation status dropped from fully accredited to probationary last week, as voted by the Oklahoma State Board of Education.
How do new ideas take form?
Although the last school year was one which was – to say the least -- out of the ordinary, members of the Oologah band are hoping to make a bang this week with their fireworks stand fundraiser.
