Talala celebrates town square improvements
Talala residents and local dignitaries recently came together to commemorate the completion of improvements to the town square in a ribbon cutting ceremony. It all started with a quick meeting between Talala Mayor Kandy Damron and Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilors Dora Patzkowski and Keith Austin. Mayor Damron had a vision of improving the town square. Thanks to a partnership of the Cherokee Nation, the Town of Talala, Rogers County District 2, Sweets Claim Service and Mid America Feed today the ribbon was cut to celebrate the completion of these improvements. Those present for the ribbon cutting ceremony included Talala Mayor Kandy Damron (from left) Regina Stone with Sweet Claim Service, Allen Long with Mid America Feed, Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilors Dora Patzkowski and Keith Austin and Rogers County Commisioner Steve Hendrix.
