Maria Laubach Noble, Ph.D has been a manager and publisher of small community newspapers since 2013. In 2014 she was appointed a trustee to Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation and last year was elected to be the vice president of the Foundation. Noble served on Education and Advertising Committees with the Oklahoma Press Association. She became the publisher of the Oologah Lake Leader in 2017. She oversees newspaper layout and design and fills in as needed in other daily operations.
, marketing director, is a national expert in using newspapers in schools. She created the award-winning feature “For the Kid in You” for the NIE program. The feature is now nationally syndicated. She has also written three serials children’s stories for the Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation. She was the news editor before taking over advertising and marketing duties, where she has set new records for advertising sales.
, has been with the Oologah Lake Leader since 1998. Carman started out as a distribution manager and soon thereafter developed interests to photography. Carman has shot for the Leader for years taking pictures of accidents, fires, nature, local events and sports. In the past two years Carman’s main focus has been on sports photography. His skills have been recognized by a number of Oklahoma Press Association photography awards including first place in Oklahoma Better Newspaper Contest in 2015. Carman has been a long-term Oologah resident and a graduate of Oologah-Talala schools.
Tom Fink, Leader editor and reporter, brings his over 20 years of experience covering news in Rogers County to the Oologah Lake Leader. Fink joined the Oologah Lake Leader staff last year.
“I’m very happy to be a part of the Oologah Lake Leader,” said Fink. He’s since covered much of the community, people, Oologah-Talala Schools, businesses and other stories. Fink graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, with a B.A. in Journalism, and prior to joining Oologah Lake Leader team was senior staff writer with the Claremore Daily Progress.
