Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, FBI searching rural property near Oologah for possible 2013 homicide victim
Rogers County Deputies, FBI and OSBI agents are among those searching a property northwest of Oologah for a body believed to be connected to a 2013 homicide.
Major Coy Jenkins with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office this morning said his office recently received a tip about a location of a man killed in 2013, whose remains were believed to be in a Rogers County pond, between Oologah and Talala.
Persons of interest in the case have not yet been identified.
Currently, FBI agents are among the evidence recovery team from around the country working the scene. Agents brought in specialized equipment to search the ponds on the rural property, with the Rogers County Search and Rescue team assisting. Cadaver dogs also are being used at the scene.
Major Jenkins said they will be conducting their search for the next three days, with a command post set up by the Minuteman Disaster Response Team of Texas to provide food and other assistance for the search crews.
