Fire at downtown Oologah business Thursday morning

A downtown Oologah businesses received minor damage Thursday morning from a fire reported to have originated in the attic. Northwest Rogers County Fire District officers responded to the fire at Advanced Homes, Inc. at 120 S. Maple at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13. Fire Chief Mat Shockley said the fire itself was contained to the attic, affecting four rafters – two suffering damage from direct flames, and two receiving heat damage, with the entire attic suffering minor smoke damage. Vehicles on the scene included the main fire engine, a tanker, and a back-up engine, with the fire being placed under control and extinguished in “roughly 20 minutes,” Shockley said, with 430 gallons of water and one gallon of foam being used on the fire. No injuries were reported.
